The Seeds of the Inner Garden

What kind of garden do you plant your seeds in?

Imagine this, after weeks of searching for the perfect seeds to plant in your new garden, you finally find them.

Having seen the plants that grow from these seeds and tasted the fruits and veggies from these plants, you know they’re perfect.

Now they’re yours.

Once home, you walk to your garden to plant the seeds you’ve been so excited to receive.

Reaching your garden patch your excitement fades as you see nothing but dry, hard dirt and a vast array of old brown weeds.

Reality sets in, and you as an unprepared gardner taste defeat with seeds of greatness in your hands.

I take that back, you may not be defeated.

It would be fairly easy to grab a shovel, a hoe, and a few other tools and get to work, clearing and preparing your garden for your perfect seeds.

Once all cleaned up, you prepare the holes for planting, set the seeds, and allow mother nature to handle the rest. You obviously will have to continue to make sure the garden is free of weeds and that the plants stay watered.

Do that and you’re on your way to a good harvest.

Easy enough right?

Now, imagine if those perfect fruit and vegetable seeds you were searching for were your dreams, desires, and aspirations?

What if after weeks, months, even years of searching you found what brings joy to your heart, you found your perfect seeds.

Filled with excitement, you take these seeds of your dreams, desires, and aspirations in hopes of planting them immediately.

You reach your garden and desperation fills your gut.

Looking out over your garden you see dry, hard dirt, with a vast array of old brown weeds, choking the life out of the soil.

With no where to plant the perfect seeds you’ve found, you leave the garden in defeat, believing there is no hope for your dreams to sprout from your inner garden.

*Aren’t these seeds still good? Isn’t it still possible to prepare our gardens and plant our dreams?

Of course.

Here are four ways to prepare your inner garden for your seeds of greatness to grow even more abundantly.

  1. Clear all the weeds – What are the weeds of the inner garden? Negative, limiting, debilitating thoughts. Don’t plant seeds of negativity.
  2. Plant and water the seeds you wish to see grow – Plant positive, motivating, inspiring seeds and water those seeds with positive thoughts that remind you of your purpose and power.
  3. Send your garden good vibes – See the seeds you’ve planted growing peacefully and abundantly. Your garden thrives off of the way you perceive it.
  4. Don’t let people come trample on your garden – Don’t be surprised if there are some people who don’t want to see your seeds grow. Love all, but discern who you allow to enter your inner garden.

Remember, oak trees don’t grow to their full potential overnight.

Do what you can do each day and be thankful for your ability to sprout thoughts from within. (Tweet That)
