How To Live In The Present Moment

The Present Moment

When was the last time you stopped, took some time to pause and fully opened your mind to all that’s happening in this moment of now?

Taking time to sit in the stillness of your being, recognizing Life.

Opening your mind to the universe above which in this present moment is constructing new planets out of the stars of yesterday.

Opening your heart to the galaxies around us, the endless Life throughout the cosmos, which share this present moment with us.

Or opening your being to the incredible things that are happening on this planet of Earth that slowly orbits around an enormous sun which in this present moment illuminates, warms and supports countless types of life throughout our solar system.

Have you took a moment to be here now, embracing the organs within your body, the cells that are dividing in this present moment.

Or the atoms that are empowered by the same Energy, the same Life which holds the galaxies in space?

Reconnecting with this present moment is one of the most powerful things we can do.

In fact, I’ve found in my experience that reconnecting with this present moment is the greatest way to rid myself of stress, frustration, fear and worry. Ultimately embracing the truth that this moment of now is all I truly have.

Reconnecting with Now

If you’re anything like me then you know that throughout our days we can easily be pulled off our path of peace. Situations occur each and everyday that lie beyond our control and can have a positive or negative effect.

A great practice I’ve began to do is each time I feel myself being pulled out of this moment of now, being pulled out of a centered state of awareness, I can pull myself back to the present moment.

In doing this, you’ll see that you can pull yourself back to the present, by first embracing the immense power contained in this moment, and second by aligning yourself with this moment in which the universe supports you.

Life is expressed through this moment of now.

Only Thing

Now is all we have.

We may obtain things, materials, money, or wealth throughout our experience of life and it’s through this moment of now which it all blossoms.

It is incredible to think that this moment that just passed will never come our way again.

Our minds and bodies constantly changing, our world and planet under constant transformation, ourselves creating, moment to moment.

This moment of now connects us and creates our experience of life.

“The present moment is filled with joy and happiness. If you are attentive, you will see it.”

3 Key Ways to Be in The Present Moment

#1 – Be Here Now – One of the greatest spiritual practices, most empowering prayer and best meditation is the conscious practice of being here now. This may require some of us to constantly and consciously, pull ourselves back to this present moment by inwardly aligning ourselves with the Life, the power and the presence which fills this moment of now.

Is there anything worthy of pulling you out of this all powerful moment through which all of Life is contained?

#2 – Reconnect With Your Breath – As you begin to pull yourself back into the present moment more and more you’ll begin recognizing a few things. One of those things is the importance of this breath which you take throughout your entire journey of Life. Reconnecting with your breath is another powerful spiritual practice and inner mediation that will help you remember that you are living here and now.

Try focusing on your breath a few times each hour. Fully and truly honoring all the life each breath supports (and is connected too).

#3 – Stillness – Intentionally designate times throughout your day to stop and be still. It is in these quiet times of stillness that we are able to have our greatest in-sights. In the stillness, you can see this moment of now is all we have.

Stillness can be practiced many ways. A few easy and effective examples include seated meditation, hiking (connecting with nature), writing, or just simply stopping and realizing that you are alive. Fully embracing this moment of now which will never come around again.

“This day will never come again and anyone who fails to eat and drink and taste and smell it will never have it offered to him again in all eternity. The sun will never shine as it does today…But you must play your part and sing a song, one of your best.”

―Hermann Hesse

Gratitude

The greatest act of gratitude I’ve found over the course of the last few months is to consciously and fully be thankful for this moment of now which we are able to live.

Things aren’t always perfect but they always align in beautiful ways that can help you and I recognize more and more each day just how valuable this present moment is.

Thought

Inwardly, where do you spend the majority of your time? Past, Present, or Future?

Have a great day.
