The Exodus of Old Mentalities

Sometimes all that’s required to reverse a bad day, an unfortunate situation, or a stress-filled event is a switch in mentality.

A simple change in thought can paint our world a new color.

I experienced this first hand just the other week. Here in Atlanta, I’ve been putting together my upcoming book, scheduling and preparing for future speaking events, while at the same time, trying to be there for the ones I love, my family.

Every once in a while, it seems I get going a little too fast, my mind moving too quick. Every once in a while things get burdensome as my conscious and intentional movements get drowned out by debilitating thoughts that slowly creep back into my mind.

Suddenly, I find myself attaching onto thoughts that have the power to prevent my forward movement into the areas of life that mean the most to me.

When this sets in, (it’s not if, but when), I try my best to grasp control of my thoughts.

I try to become aware and remind myself of my ability to intentionally and deliberately empower my mind.

Over time, I’ve learned to do this a few different ways. My favorite way is fairly simple and I believe it’s something you may find beneficial.

All it requires is to still your mind for a moment, breathe and consciously reflect upon inspirational quotes, empowering poems and motivational thoughts.

All of which can transform a day of gloom into a day of beauty, a week of misfortune into a week belief, a month of doubt into a month of confidence and a life filled with stress into a life filled with energy and aliveness.

Sometimes all we need is a switch in our thoughts.

10 Quotes to Make the Day Greater

3 Poems That Will Free Your Mind

During stressful times ground yourself upon a foundation of truth. Here’s a few poems that can help you do just that:

“Ten thousand flowers in spring,

the moon in autumn,

a cool breeze in summer,

snow in winter.

If your mind isn’t clouded

by unnecessary things,

this is the best season of your life.”

-Wu-Men

“You think you are alive

because you breathe air?

Shame on you,

that you are alive in such a limited way.

Don’t be without Love,

so you won’t feel dead.

Die in Love

and stay alive forever.”

-Rumi

“I bargained with Life for a penny,

And Life would pay no more,

However I begged at evening

When I counted my scanty store;

For Life is just an employer,

He gives you what you ask,

But once you have set the wages,

Why, you must bear the task.

I worked for a menial’s hire,

Only to learn, dismayed,

That any wage I had asked of Life,

Life would have paid.”

-Jessie B. Rittenhouse

5 Thoughts That Can Heal A Troubled Mind

One of my favorite motivational speakers, Jim Rohn, once said, “It is the set of the sails, not the direction of the wind that determines which way we will go.”

Our thoughts are the sails of our lives, capable of directing our experience to whatever ends we desire.

  • There’s no big or small to the God which made it all.
  • We fit the entire universe in our consciousness, we must be larger than the universe to be able to encompass this.
  • Every waking moment is a glimpse of life in Its full splendor.
  • That which you seek is the Essence of Life within, which enables one to do the seeking.
  • Be still and know.

State of Empowerment

Pick a few of these thoughts, quotes and poems and keep them close to you. Use them to strengthen your determination, build your confidence and fuel your dreams.

You have the ability to create your own empowerment, but you must bring it out from within.

Gratitude

Find gratitude for the great minds of the past.

Let us be even more grateful for the ability to send our thoughts into new horizons within our own consciousness, which in turn can lead to the transformation of our lives.

Here’s to empowerment my friends.

Peace

Happiness

Compassion

Respect
