The Inner World

Have you ever met one of those people who regardless of how good things are allow their negative attitudes to ripple out and make the most enjoyable experiences difficult?

You may be that person who always dismisses the good in your life, only to spend your time and energy focusing upon the negative.

I actually know someone who seems to bring this toxic, negative and problem-filled inner world with them everywhere they go.

When he’s speaking to other people, he brings this toxic inner world out from within him to join in the conversation. He told me that when he’s sitting alone at home or driving in his car, his negativity from his inner world seeps into his places of refuge.

During his time at work he focuses on all the things going wrong, even if everything is going right. He captures unresolved issues in his inner world and acts as if they were created by his current job or situation. Throughout his daily activities he brought this toxic inner world, his hurting inner-self with him everywhere he went.

The funny thing is this, he would always complain about all the negatives and how nothing ever works out in his life, but what I quickly realized was that it was his inner world injecting this toxic, negative poison into his day to day life.

I share this story about someone I care about to ask you this question:

How many of us poison the beauty of today because of the unresolved issues and toxic problems running wild throughout our inner world?

This is the perfect time to uncover peace within ourselves.

Reflecting Upon the Inner World

What kind of inner world do you live in?

If you were to take me through your inner world, what type of things would I see?

Are you like the man in the story above who carries the burdens, negative experiences and limiting beliefs about himself, believing them so deeply that they are seeping into your physical experiences?

I encourage you to take some time today to answer these questions.

It will do you a great service to slow down for a few minutes, taking time to recognize the inner world you are living in; further understanding that your inner world is a preview of the outer reflections that are flowing your way.

Empowering Our Inner World

If you spend some time answering the questions in the previous section, you should be able to recognize at least one area of your inner world that could use some improvement and empowerment.

If you are one of those people who don’t believe there are any areas of your inner world that could use some improvement, look deeper.

Bring to mind the one or two things you dread each day. It may be business related, destructive personal habits, conversing with that one person, or a combination of many things.

As you are looking deeper within, ask yourself,

“Why do I dread these things?”

This simple question can work wonders in the empowerment of our inner worlds. The reason being is that the source of pain is usually an indication that our inner world could use some improvement.

After all, if you are at complete peace within, what outer experience could steal that peace out from within you? (nada)

3 Keys For Honoring Inner World

#1 – Suffering – Identify 3 areas in your daily life that bring you the most suffering. Once identified, ask yourself why? What are the reasons you are suffering in these areas?

This may be a little uncomfortable and will require you to look within and identify the reason you do the things you do. Identifying these areas of suffering however, will shine a light of truth that can lead you towards immediate empowerment.

Recognizing the areas where you suffer is the first step towards inner healing.

#2 – Shifting The Inner Image of Self – One of the most beneficial things you can do is to improve the image you have of yourself. If you view yourself as unworthy, inferior to another, or unskilled, you carry that belief with you into your day to day experience; that belief affects the way people will interact with you.

The image you hold about yourself is not only reaffirmed through the thoughts you think, but is reflected back upon you from the world around you.

As you begin to view yourself as abundant, full of peace, poise and prosperity, the world and people upon it will see these qualities shining through you.

#3 – The Demise of False Obstacles – You can immediately improve the quality of your inner world, thus transforming your outer experience by no longer feeding the false obstacles that you believe are preventing you from being your best.

The internal barriers we carry with us act as dams that stop the flow of our natural gifts and abilities from blossoming into their full potential. The unfortunate thing about these obstacles is that they are usually self-created and self-created beliefs are continuously reaffirmed through the things we do.

You can be your greatest asset or biggest liability.

All things follow the shift that takes place within.

Gratitude

If you don’t know where to start or these keys are a little too out there for you, begin to transform your inner world through the simple use of Gratitude.

Build your inner house upon the firm ground of gratefulness.
